Longboarder Killed at Chambers Bay Park

A 21-year-old was killed while longboarding with his teen brother at Chambers Creek Regional Park on Saturday afternoon, according to KIRO 7.

KIRO reports that the victim, identified as Tyler Dean Johnson, was not wearing a helmet. He crashed into a tree on the walking trail and died en route to the hospital.

According to the Tacoma News Tribune, the young man crashed on the northwest side of the park's walking trail, where there is a series of switchbacks.

He is reported to be a Clover Park High School graduate.
