Help Peace Out Win $5,000 and Vote Michelle McLean as Brotherton Community Champion

Peace Out's Michelle McLean is in the running for 2013 Brotherton Community Champion, a recognition of outstanding community service. If she wins, Peace Out gets $5,000 from Brotherton Cadillac in Renton.

It's not every day you can reward kindness in action with a $5,000 check, but a local video contest could do just that for UP's Peace Out.

A short documentary video starring Peace Out volunteers and CEO Michelle McLean has been entered into the Brotherton Community Champion competition, sponsored by Brotherton Cadillac in Renton.

In the video, McLean talks about how Peace Out started as a chain reaction of kindness among teens in University Place.

"I noticed one thing my kids loved about volunteering was the recognition--talking about it with their friends and recruiting friends to come along," said McLean. "Then the question became, 'who can we help next?' Teenagers have so much passion and love to help. If you give them an avenue, they're on board."
