Husband (forty three years), father (three girls, one boy and three grandkids), scientist (forty plus at the Atmospheric Sciences Dept, UW), classic car restorer ( several still running), home builder (three log homes), flower deliverer (Young’s Enumclaw Flowers and Gifts), general gopher and fix-it guy (continuing), and author of two Kindle e-Books available at Amazon (Thank God Those idiots Are on the Other Side of the Mountains, and Lucid Dreams, the Uncensored Edition).

John received his B.S. (Magna cum Laude, Phi Beta Kappa) in Atmospheric Sciences at the University of Washington in 1967 and retired in ’08.  During the time he was at the UW he mentored graduate students, guest-lectured and published 77 referred papers in scientific journals.  John started out his career studying snowflakes in the mountains with the goal of producing more snow on the east side of the Cascades. Ironically, he ended his career studying snowflakes in the mountains with the goal of improving the forecast of snow depth and density. In between he studied storms in the Pacific and the Atlantic Coasts and severe weather in the Midwest.
