Curtis High School is a public school and the only high school in the University Place School District. It servesMore approximately 1,400 students in grades 10 through 12. Curtis Junior High School is one of the crown jewels of the University Place School District. It dates back nearlyMore five decades, when the district bought a piece of land that became a junior and senior high school campus, and the namesake for both schools is longtime local school advocate George R. Curtis.

In 2006, UP voters approved an $86 million school construction bond that included $55 million for a new junior high school, which would continue to house the community's eighth- and ninth-graders. The location of the junior high school, which was on the property's south end along 40th Street West, is now closer to the west along Grandview Drive West.

Heritage Christian School

Heritage Christian School provides a Christian-based education for children in kindergarten through eighth grade.More Members of the Tacoma Bible Presbyterian Church founded the school to help educate their children. Today the school has about 160 students. Heritage Christian School's curriculum uses a rigorous and traditional approach, and its students perform well on standardized tests. The school's principal is Glenn Fisher.
Curtis Senior High School

Designed by renowned local architect Robert B. Price, Curtis Senior High School opened in 1969. Its namesake isMore George R. Curtis, a longtime University Place resident who dedicated much of his life to bettering educational opportunities for the community's youth. The University Place School District purchased a 23.5-acre property that eventually became the site for a campus for a junior and senior high school.

Over the years, the school has gained a reputation for being academically and athletically strong, and it features an award-winning school band. Its alumni are spread throughout University Place and beyond.

Today, the school continues to be a source of pride for University Place, even as the school district opened a new junior high next door. The high school opened a new gymnasium in 2010.

The principal is David Hammond. Its mascot is the Vikings.

Evergreen offers an expansive athletic field, where you can catch members of the Curtis Soccer teams practicing. It also offers a playground. Lance Goodpaster is the school's principal. Its mascot is the Eagles.
