Curtis Junior High School
3725 Grandview Dr W, University Place, WA 98466

Curtis Junior High School is one of the crown jewels of the University Place School District. It dates back nearlyMore five decades, when the district bought a piece of land that became a junior and senior high school campus, and the namesake for both schools is longtime local school advocate George R. Curtis.

In 2006, UP voters approved an $86 million school construction bond that included $55 million for a new junior high school, which would continue to house the community's eighth- and ninth-graders. The location of the junior high school, which was on the property's south end along 40th Street West, is now closer to the west along Grandview Drive West.
