Parents ruin sports..

Alan I agree. Parents coach to get their kids and kids friends a leg up. Kids are choosen too basedRead More on parents and kids being friends. Take AAU and All-Stars and positions in each sport. Parents coach because they want their kid in prime positions, kids are friends with certain kids or because a family does not like someone but the kid has talent not playing. You need "out of area" coaches to come and determine if a kid is "that good" to be at the next level not "locals" whom coach because that is the only way the kid will get playing time.

sportsnut: Seems like a perfect opportunity for you to get involved in coaching... If nothingRead More else, becoming a coach will give you a voice in the league to lobby for equal playing time for all kids, and rotation of positions--particularly at the lower levels.

What a year for Curtis' sports teams! Congrats the girls water polo team, and especially to CoachRead More Piccolotto. Six straight years in the Championships? That's dominating your sport, wow.

Unbelievably, they wipe off the first ft, but Jordan, a senior, makes 2 clutch fts! Curtis leadsRead More 59-56 with 9.1 seconds left. #icewaterinveins

In a strange twist, the clock ran out on Jackson's cinderella, undefeated season, just as the clockRead More struck midnight...literally.

I still have no idea on what happened here... Clutch is right.

I'm cautiously excited and probably won't celebrate until a deal is signed. Having lost a teamRead More ourselves, I think we should definitely be empathetic to disgruntled Kings fans and welcome them to Northwest if they want. Other than that, I think it's great. Isaiah Thomas, back in the 253 and the 206, are you kidding me? How awesome would that be?
Locked n Loaded January 10, 2013 at 05:39 pm
I think it would be great. For my reasoning you ask? Only so I can see my Lakers hereRead More locally, instead of driving to Portland. I can't stand many of the teams here. With the exception of this years ChickenHawks team. None of the NW sports teams really know how to win. And in Recent years the fans finally stand behind there football team. But god forbid they happen to be losing. I would see all of the seachickens gear at giveaway prices on Craigslist. But I give credit where credit is due. The chicken have been playing outstanding football. This state needs a Super Bowl win. It's long over due. They owe it to there fans. RAIDER NATION!!!!! Sorry I'm a die hard!!!!! I never turn my back on my team. Win,Lose or Draw. Lol. A whole lotta losing. But they are still my team. A True Raider Faithful.

Oh, so you're a California transplant. Well, that explains the reasoning behind some of your logic,Read More Fermin :) Hey, quick question - how are those Lakers doing this year? They're like the third-best team in California, aren't they? And the Raiders, Fermin? Yeah, those guys did great this year :) Btw, my wife grew up in Charger land, so I know what happens when Raider Nation comes to town.
