We have to make people aware that our State is run by public employee Unions and we need court casesRead More like today which ruled that the California Teacher Tenure rules are unconstitutional so that we can change laws and vote people out of office who do not represent the interests of the public who pay the taxes.

Something that is interesting to note is that high school grads are going to four year universitiesRead More and studying subject that isn't marketable. While on the other hand you have people getting vocational training at vocational schools that essentially guarantees them a job out of school that will make them 'x' amount of money. So it isn't that college degrees are worthless, some are. It is also said that sometimes trade school is the right choice! I don't think schools should punish students for their social media activity. I think a better wayRead More to go would be to notify the child's parents and let them decide how to act. In cases of suicidal ideation or cyberbullying, though, I think the school should intervene directly to help that student rather than waiting to see if their parents/guardians will take action. A lot of parents do not know how to handle cyberbullying and suicide appropriately, or they want to continuously deny that anything is wrong with their child.

Just a weird thought while jogging at Chambers yesterday. How must time and money would be saved ifRead More the U.P. Schools were to eliminate the "staff days" and the week long breaks during the year? School would start the first week of September, and would end in late or middle of May. Schools would not have to be cleaned, heated or cooled for that extra month, teachers would get a longer summer break, students could get summer jobs earlier, and parents would not have to struggle to get day care for their kids for only a week. Just a thought.
