Hello, Remembering 9/11, I hope that the 'flight attendants' will also be remembered. They seem toRead More be overlooked most of the time. Those flight attendants did a great job on 9/11 and all of them gave their lives to protect their passengers as well as everyone else. Thank you.

Hero's don't only wear fire fighters turnout gear, but wear flight attendant uniforms and civilianRead More clothes, too. Only recently female nurses were recognized for having served in Viet Nam, but there are thousands of armed forces personnel who are here today only because of their professionalism. Sometimes the only personal recognition you receive is that which you give yourself and the satisfaction you have as having made a difference to someones life. No one can ever take that from you!

I don't know Sandi, she seems like a wonderful resource, but I know the value of having additionalRead More resources for us citizens to be able to get answers to our questions and we have seen the benefit of having the outreach programs run by Jennifer Hales. This is a great step in a positive direction (unless we are losing Jennifer). Thanks Chief Blair for the addition. University Place just keeps getting better and better.

Ah, here is what that additional tax is getting me. A new hire.

Hi Lee. The Fire Communications center has several "users" who pay for those costs. I knowRead More its easy to think OUR U.P. taxes pay for all if this, but it's a collaboration of MANY Districts in the County. (I felt the same way before I did my research, due diligence first!) I know we need dispatchers, and every second counts when it's me or my loved ones in need.

A few weeks ago there were several cars broken into in our UP neighborhood. They made holes in theRead More windows and averted the security systems so they knew more than a lot of us about how to get past them. That was a week there was no police report in the Patch so I am not sure exactly how many of our neighbors were hit--we were too. They even stole the DTNW stand-up banners which was costly and wasteful because who else could use them? I know most of us are beefing up home and auto security as a result but it is good to know that once in while they catch some of these criminals.
