I am SO happy to finally see a Military Parade held in downtown Tacoma

I went to the parade. I agree with Patrica. I don't see why U P can't do something to honor ourRead More Military and Veterans. One more parade in U P in town would be great, especially to honor our vets and military.

Yes! It's Today! Thanks for helping get the word out --AND, it's NATIONAL DANCE DAY! :-)

Barbara and I attended the "Art Inspires Art" dance performance at the Tacoma Museum ofRead More Glass this afternoon. Although I am no judge of ballet, I do know athleticism and Melanie's dancers are true athletes. Also, she teaches these dancers life skills such as team building, team work, respect for others, etc. Melanie is a gem and her dancers are the solid citizens which our country needs for continued growth. Thank you Melanie for both your team at Dance Theater Northwest, and the aspiring dancers which you develop. Howard and Barbara Lee

From the shape of the pectoral fin that looks like one of the two Risso's dolphins that have beenRead More seen in the South Sound for several months. There are no other reports of orcas in the area sent in to Orca Network for several months. This is an important sighting for researchers in any case.

Howard, I was on the phone talking with Dave, the guy that took the picture. He was calling to tellRead More me he didn't think it was an orca. Then as he and I were online looking at what it could have been, I received an email from my friend who told me that you had commented, thinking it's a Risso's. And after looking at pictures online, that's what Dave thinks it was. He saw it last Thursday, the 25th, between McNeil and Fox islands at around 7 p.m. So correction: Risso's dolphin, not an orca. Risso's info: http://www.nmfs.noaa.gov/pr/species/mammals/cetaceans/rissosdolphin.htm
