The checks were bigger than the pizza pies Friday night at in University Place.
It was a big night for the teens with the Peace Out, the UP-based group committed to raising money for local causes.
As Patch Facebook (please "Like") user Michelle McLean put it, it was a night of "a bunch of teen philanthropists passing out their giant checks."
"It's check presentation night and it is INSPIRING!!!!" she wrote.
Awesome stuff. The Peace Out group deserves all the kudos UP and the South Sound can give, as these teens are doing positive things to help better their community.
Check or no check, pizza or no pizza, that truly is inspiring. Great job, Peace Out.
(To anyone who attended the ceremony and took pictures, please SHARE them. I was so stretched that night that I literally had time to duck in and out. I captured one teen, but I hear there were upwards of 70 teens who presented giant checks. If you have pictures, please share by clicking the "Upload Photos and Videos" button)
