UP Youth Council Helped Create A Great Dance For Dads & Daughters

From setup to cleanup, the group's 11 members worked tirelessly to put on a great event.

Even the rain and cold could not prevent 556 dads and their daughters from attending the eighth-annual at Curtis High.

It's an extremely popular event and sold out again this year.

The 's Youth Council is a big reason for that. Not only did the group sponsor the event, but these "youngsters," who range from eighth through 12th grades, provide a series of constructive activities.

They are also positive role models for the youth of  our city. They provide support by assisting with community and local charities or events.

The Daddy Daughter Dance is strictly theirs. They do it all at this dance. From setting up, serving punch, cake, ice cream to clean up, they do the entire dance with support from Recreation Department Supervisor .

They weren't the only ones who chipped in, though. This year’s dance saw Forza supplying gallons of coffee, and Safeway provided the goodies (cake, cookies, soda and ice cream) at a substantial price break.

From setup at the Curtis High School cafeteria in the afternoon till wrap-up about 9:30 p.m., 11 of the Youth Council “did it all”. A huge effort for a great dance that is really appreciated by daughters and their dads!
