Playground by the Sound: It's Coming Together

Now, it's starting to look like a playground.

And we're all getting anxious.

The is entering its fourth day of volunteer construction. Since Tuesday, a stream of volunteers has trickled in and out of the fenced-off site at Chambers Creek Properties.

They've hammered, drilled, hauled planks, installed slides, painted and done a schoolyard-worth of work over the first three days.

Heck, even I drilled a few fence screws and poured some cement. If a non-construction guy can get his hands dirty, anyone can.

Organizers say they still need volunteers, so make your way on down to the North Meadow of Chambers Creek Properties if you can.

Patch has been there along the way too. After I worked the first two days, Lakewood Patch Editor Marques Hunter lent his skilled-hands to the cause Thursday. Thanks, Marques.

As for me, it's back to getting my hands dirty and enjoying every minute of it.
