Parks Appreciation Day at Central Meadow

Pierce County Parks and Recreation will be among 16 jurisdictions and organizations hosting clean-ups at 43 sites from 9 a.m. to noon. Participating county-owned sites are the  at Chambers Creek Regional Park and Ashford County Park.

Volunteers will spread bark, prune trees and shrubs, pull weeds, pick up trash, and plant flowers and trees. A full list of the 43 sites is available at www.ParksAppreciationDay.net.

Preregistration is not required at either of the two sites hosted by Pierce County Parks and Recreation. Volunteers should just check in with the site leader and start working. Central Meadow is located next to Chambers Bay Golf Course, 6320 Grandview Dr. W, University Place. Ashford County Park is located at 29700 SR 706 E, Ashford.

Volunteers are asked to bring yard tools that are clearly labeled, warm clothing and enthusiasm.
