VIDEO, VIEWFINDER: University Place Plays Role in Sounders Women's Visit to Cheney Stadium
The University Place Strikers U16 girls team not only got to meet their heroes, but they also were ball girls for the Sounders U23 match.
The star-laden Sounders Women's team visited Cheney Stadium to sign autographs before the Sounders U23 men's game Wednesday night.
The big names included Megan Rapinoe and Stephanie Cox of Gig Harbor.
But for one local team - the University Place Strikers U16 girls team - Wednesday was extra special.

Not only did the players get to meet some of their heroes, but they also got to be ball girls for the men's game between the Sounders U23 and the Vancouver Whitecaps' team, according to Coach Joe McNallan.
