Share Your Favorite Dave Niehaus Memories, UP

The Mariners' Hall Of Fame broadcaster died today. He was 75.

He made the calls during the Mariners' magical 1995 run. His voice made Ken Griffey Jr.'s home runs sound like they had traveled 300 feet farther. His excitement in 2001 made us think Seattle would never lose.

Dave Niehaus, the Seattle Mariners' Hall Of Fame play-by-play announcer, died of a heart attack today in Bellevue. He was 75.

As thousands of Mariners fans can attest to, Niehaus' calls will ring loud in their hearts and minds forever. From get-out-the-bread-and-mustard grand slams in the Kingdome to his fly-fly-away moonshots at Safeco Field, few Northwest baseball fans will the team's broadcaster who was there from the start.
