MARTELLIWATCH: UP's Adrienne Martelli, Americans Into The Finals Of The Women's Quadruple Sculls

The Curtis and UW rowing product broke the good news to Patch herself today, all the way from the London Summer Olympics. "So excited for the race," she says.

ETON DORNEY, ENGLAND-University Place's Adrienne Martelli and and the Americans are into the finals of the women's quadruple sculls event at the London Summer Olympic Games.

The Curtis grad and University of Washington product helped the U.S. row to a second-place finish in the repechage of the event to compete in the finals. They secured a time of 6 minutes, 19.49 seconds, less than a second behind top finisher Australia.

After the race, Martelli herself contacted Patch via our Facebook page, where fans can wish her "Good Luck" on our message board. Here's what she wrote:

Thank you so much for all of the good luck wishes!!! Made the final today and have a 1 in 6 shot at a gold medal. It's going to be a bitter fight to the end, but so excited for the race!! Thanks again!!! Honored to represent UP!!
