Lacy named to AP All-State, First Team

The Washington State University-bound senior from Curtis High led his team to the 4A state championship game.

The state's sports writers say DaVonte Lacy was one of the best basketball players around this year.

Curtis senior' wing player, who averaged more than 20 points per game this season, has been named to the Associated Press' All-State, First Team in the 4A division, according to the Seattle Times.

, is joined by a group of the state's best players. They include Player of the Year winner Gary Bell of Kentridge, Tony Wrotten Jr. of Garfield, Brett Kingma of Jackson and Chris Sarbaugh of Gonzaga Prep.

Lacy and Sarbaugh guarded each other in the state championship game.

For the University Place senior, it's a fitting end for a player who carried the Vikings for periods of this season. He now is preparing to play basketball for Washington State University next season.
