ISAIAHWATCH: Thomas Nets Season-High in Points to Help Kings Edge the Raptors

The Tacoma native and former Curtis hoopster also led Sacramento with six assists in 23 minutes of play. One writer says Sacramento might have found a "real steal" in Thomas.

TORONTO- enjoyed his best game of the season as the rookie helped Sacramento notch its first road win against the Raptors on Wednesday night, 98-91.

The Tacoma native and former star scored a season-high 20 points, including shooting 3-for-6 from behind the arc and making all five of his free throws.

A breakout game for the first-year player - who had been averaging a little under six points per game coming into Wednesday's matchup - Thomas also led the team with six assists in almost 24 minutes.

The last player to be selected in this year's NBA draft, the former University of Washington star's breakout performance did not go unnoticed.

"The biggest surprise of the night was the play of Sacramento's rookie point guard," wrote Kyle Rapoza of Yahoo Sports. "Thomas made the most of his opportunity to see increased playing (time) with (starting guard Marcus) Thornton out of the lineup."

"This kind of game makes fans want to see more out of Thomas and less out of (Kings' first-round draft pick Jimmer) Fredette," Rapoza added. "Thomas has clearly been more aggressive and a bigger spark plug for the team off the bench. If he can continue this play, Sacramento may have found a real steal in the 2011 draft."

The Sacramento Bee's Ailene Voisin wrote of the 5-foot-9 guard: "When he worries less about scoring, little Isaiah Thomas is a very creative playmaker."

Thomas himself told NBA.com's Duane Watson that his doubters are his motivaiton.

"I just play with a chip on my shoulder," Thomas said. "I'm out here with everybody, so I feel I'm just as good as everybody else. "When I step on the court, I'm playing to win and doing what I can to get my team to win, and I did a pretty good job of that tonight."
