Girls Lacrosse: Curtis Loses Steam Against Kennedy, Suffers Second Loss of Season

Curtis was led offensively by Kortney Hudak, who scored four goals and caused two turnovers in Thursday's loss.

UNIVERSITY PLACE - Monica Moffat scored a game-high five goals as Kennedy earned its fourth consecutive girls lacrosse victory, defeating Curtis 16-9, Thursday at Curtis Senior High School in University Place.

Ashley Cusack also netted four goals and recorded three assists to help the Lancers stay undefeated on the season. Claire Hisken scored three and added an assist.

Kennedy held a narrow 8-7 lead at halftime but Brita Whisler held Curtis to just two second-half goals and helped secure the victory.

Curtis was led offensively by Kortney Hudak, who scored four goals and caused two turnovers in Thursday’s loss. Alexa Mantefuel also scored three goals and Leah Marshall added two.

Kennedy (4-0-0) next faces Spanaway Lake (0-3-0) in a 4 p.m. matchup, Monday, March 25 at Sunset Park.

Curtis (1-2-0) next faces North Kitsap (0-0-0) in a 6 p.m. matchup, Wednesday, March 27 at North Kitsap High School.
