Curtis Volleyball Team Slams Spanaway Lake

The Vikings take the last three sets on their home court.

The Curtis volleyball team beat Spanaway Lake in four sets Wednesday on its home court.

The Vikings lost the first set 31-33, according to Coach Jeff Grosshans. But they reeled off three consecutive sets, 25-19, 25-12 and 25-11.

Taina Kanar led the team with 12 kills, 11 digs and six aces. Sophie VanEssen had 10 kills, and Hannah Carle added 24 digs and a trio of aces. Kenzie Teigen again helped establish the Vikings' attack with 45 assists and 11 digs.

Curtis (7-2, 3-0 SPSL) will travel east for the 64-team Spokane Crossover Classic on Friday and Saturday. Check back today for details on Wednesday's match with Spanaway Lake.
