Curtis Lacrosse: Boys Romp Stadium, Girls Fall To Garfield

Colby Carr and Brandon Dean netted four goals in the boys' win. Tori Gollinger scored four goals in the girls' loss.

The Curtis boys lacrosse team romped in Tacoma this week, while the Lady Viks stumbled at home. Here are the recaps, courtesy of Washington Lacrosse:

Curtis raps rival Stadium 14 – 1

TACOMA – and Brandon Dean each scored four goals to lead Curtis to a 14 – 1 win over Stadium, Tuesday at Mason Middle School.

In the win, Dillon Cavanaugh was the defensive driver.  Playing his first game as a longpole defender, Cavanagh contributed two assists and five ground balls.

In the first, Curtis jumped to a  6 – 0 lead before both teams matched solo shots in the second.  Curtis build on its 7 – 1 halftime advantage with four goals in the third and another three in the fourth to cruise to the win.

Curtis (5-3-0) next faces Lake Tapps (3-4-0), today in an 8 p.m. start at home.  Stadium (2-2-0) next faces King’s Way, Saturday in a 5 p.m. start at Mason Middle School.

Garfield drops Curtis girls to advance to 7-1 on Wednesday

UNIVERSITY PLACE – Linnea Whisman netted five goals to lead Garfield to its seventh win of the season with a 22 – 10 girls Division II win over Curtis, Wednesday on the road.

For the Bulldogs, Krishni Seasholes and Maya Code-Williams each added four goals to the scoring onslaught. Curtis’s Tori Gollinger netted four goals, Kortney Hudak had three and Carina Coppedge-Pope had seven saves in goal for the Vikings.

Garfield (7-1-0) next faces Bainbridge (2-3-0), April 26 in a 6:15 p.m. start at Seattle’s Magnuson Park. Curtis (4-3-0) next faces Klahowya, Friday in a 5:30 p.m. start at Klahowya Secondary School in Silverdale.
