In this entry, Cornelius recalls his journey that every Curtis senior has to complete: a culminating project.

What’s up everyone!

Dang, I feel like I haven’t written an article in forever! Sorry about that everyone. I know you guys are dying to know what has been going on in my life. Where to start …

Well, a few weeks after mid-winter break, I had to present my senior project. This project was called a culminating project that everyone has to complete in order to graduate. Some seniors chose to sign up to present their project a week early, but I did not sign- up for this.

The night before my presentation, I was awake until about midnight practicing and preparing my Powerpoint. I was getting anxious already. When the morning came rolling around, I could not eat anything at all. I was so nervous and I didn't know why. I wasn’t worrying about it at all beforehand, but I guess the embarrassing thought of not passing got to me.

I walked into my assigned classroom where I saw three other seniors, whom I knew, two teacher observers, a community member observer and three juniors. Thankfully, I had one of the teachers my sophomore year who really liked me.

After taking my seat, I looked up on the board and saw my name was at the top of the list to go first. I thought to myself, “Oh great!”. I wanted to at least go second, not first. When I started my presentation, I started feeling more comfortable and ended up having fun with it. I made a time of 7 minutes and 5 seconds.

In order to meet standards on the presentation, you had to talk for at least 6 minutes but no longer than 8. Once everyone presented, we had to leave the room for about 20 minutes then they called us back in one by one to tell us if we passed. Thankfully I passed! That has probably been the biggest event that has happened to me in the past couple weeks.

Spring break starts in a couple days and I have some exciting plans for that! My next entry will talk about my plans.

Hasta luego!
