Boys Lacrosse: Curtis Drops Sammamish-Newport for First Lacrosse Win
Beau Olson added three goals and Zach Budnick had 10 saves for the Vikings in a 12-9 win.
UNIVERSITY PLACE – Jayden Todd scored six goals to lead Curtis to its first win of the season with a 12-9 varsity boys Division I high school lacrosse defeat of Sammamish-Newport, Friday at Curtis High School in University Place.
Curtis got out of the gates early, blanking Sammamish-Newport with two goals in the first and added three more in the second for the 5-1 halftime lead. In the third, the Vikings put up six goal, while holding Sammamish-Newport to four to take an 11-5 lead into the fourth.
In the final quarter, Sammamish Newport outscored the Vikes 4-1 but was unable to overcome the strong Curtis start.

Beau Olson added three goals and Zach Budnick had 10 saves for the Vikings.
For Sammamish-Newport, Ryley Martin had two goals and Connor Simonson and Morgan White combined for 10 saves in goal.

Curtis (1-2-0) next faces Bainbridge 2-1-0) on Wednesday, March 20 in an 8 p.m. start at Curtis High School. Sammamish-Newport (1-2-0) next faces Coeur d’Alene (Idaho) on Saturday, March 16 in a 7p.m. start at Newport High School in Bellevue.
