AP: Chambers Bay To Undergo Experiments Next Four Years In Preparation For 2015 Open

The growth of substantial rough, as well as other changes, are intended to get the University Place golf course ready for the event.

Chambers Bay Golf Course is undergoing "small experiments" that will help prepare it for when it hosts the 2015 U.S. Open, the Associated Press is reporting.

The University Place course is is undergoing changes on portions of its course: "The first happened over the last nine months with the growth of substantial rough, the kind of gnarly mess the U.S. Golf Association hopes will swallow wayward shots when the Open comes to the Pacific Northwest for the first time," according to the AP.
