VIEWFINDER: Curtis High Aquatic Center Nearing Completion

The University Place School District says the pool is almost finished. It had been hoping on for November opening.

It's so close to completion you can almost smell the chlorine.

The says the $7.5 million aquatics center modernization and addition is almost finished, and it released photos of the project on it website.

As Patch reported two months ago, - part of an $86 million bond that voters approved in 2006 - wasn't going to be complete in September, as officials originally expected.

The delay and other issues also mean the school district will likely go to court to recover the cost from the project's contractor, Construction Enterprises Contractor, Inc.
