University Place Student-Artists Express What Diversity Means To Them

The students joined a national cultural arts program called "Reflections." On Saturday, their works were displayed at City Hall by the University Place Council of PTSA.

Some of University Place's most talented artists displayed what diversity meant to them Saturday.

The University Place Council of PTSA conducted an open house of student artwork, which was entered in national cultural arts program called "Reflections." The program involves giving student-artists a theme and allowing them to create art accordingly.

This year, the theme students followed was "Diversity Means ..."

Students at the primary, intermediate, junior high and high school levels in University Place produced pieces of artwork, which could cover areas ranging from visual arts to photography to music composition.

Twenty-four of those pieces will represent the district at the state level, which gives them the right to compete on a national level.
