University Place Schools Honored By State

Sunset and Chambers Primary each received a 2011 Washington Achievement Award, which is based on assessment data.

The state honored and schools for their efforts in improving classroom excellence, officials learned this month.

The schools each won a 2011 Washington Achievement Award, which is based on three year’s worth of a school’s assessment data. The information is measured via a methodology called the Washington Achievement Index, which is approved by the state.

Sunset Primary was one of more than 100 schools statewide to be honored for overall excellence.
