TIERRAWATCH: Tierra Crockrell Sets World Indoor Shot Put Record at Idaho Open

The University Place 10-year-old threw the shot put farther than anyone else her age, and she competed in three other events.

MOSCOW, ID-Tierra Crockrell has done it again.

The 10-year-old broke competed in another event with athletes twice her age over the weekend, and once again, she broke a world record for her age group.

Tierra participated in four events at the University of Idaho Open indoor meet Saturday.

She threw the shot put 22 feet, 6 Β½ inches, good for 25th place out of 27 competitors at the meet, but well beyond the world record for her age group. The previous indoor shot put record for girls her age was 21 feet, 11 ΒΎ inches.

One more thing, her age group usually uses 3-kg shot puts, and she threw a 4-kg shot put.

Also, Tierra competed in the women’s 60-meter dash (22nd out 41), 200-meter dash (37th out of 55), and the long jump (23rd out of 34).
