Three Charles Wright Athletic Teams Recognized by Mayor

Charles Wright Academy boasts three championship teams this year and the athletes were honored in a special proclamation from the City of University Place.

Three Charles Wright Academy athletic teams were recognized by University Place Mayor Ken Grassi and members of the city council at the March 4 regular council meeting.

Charles Wright athletes, coaches and supporters packed Town Hall Monday night to hear the council honor the school's three championship teams: the three - time defending state champion Boys’ Tennis team, Nisqually League champion Varsity Football, and defending state champion Boy’s Cross Country teams.

“This is fantastic! What an honor to be recognized by our neighbors. We strive to make the community proud of our school, our students, and our teams. So to be recognized by the city council is just awesome," said Bill White, Athletic Director and Head of the Upper School for Charles Wright.
