Support University Place's Rec Programs By Indulging In Pancakes

University Place Community Supported Parks & Recreation is holding its second-annual fundraiser to help pay for programs for youth. The event takes place Sept. 17 at Curtis High. Patch will be there.

The event - which begins with a silent auction at 8 a.m. - takes place at the cafeteria.

"All tables will be recognized as our 'kickoff' sponsors at the event and throughout the next year," according to the group. "There are several ways you can help out this year by sponsoring a table of eight."

Here are some ideas for people and organizations who do sponsor:

- your service club and invite your members or sponsors

- your volunteer group and invite your members or donors

- your neighborhood and invite your neighbors or friends

- your family and invite your spouse, children, grandchildren

- your loved one in their name honoring them for being special

Rec supporters say if are out of town this year or have another previous engagement, you can still be a sponsor as we have tables we need sponsored for our volunteers.

The group's goal is to have more than 300 people in attendance this year.

"This is your opportunity to let people know who you are and get to know others in our community," according to press release. "Show our kids in our community how much we support them. Your donation to this event makes a difference in the lives of others"
