WRESTLING: Kadyn Del Toro Takes Second in State

The Curtis senior fell in the championship match to KW Williams of Thomas Jefferson in the 2012 Mat Classic XXIV at the Tacoma Dome.

TACOMA-Kadyn Del Toro of Curtis High fell short in the championship match of the 195-pound division Saturday at the Mat Classic XXIV state wresting championship.

Del Toro lost to KW Williams of Thomas Jefferson High (Federal Way), 7-5.

Also, Eddie Cuevas finished fifth in the 113-pound division, falling to eventual second-place finisher Tim Whitehead of Tahoma.

Overall, the VikingsΒ  finished with the 12th-highest team score (38) at the state championships in the Tacoma Dome. Tacoma finished with the highest team score at 190 points.
