Shirley Case And Carol Bosley Named UP Schools' Teachers Of The Year

The duo's tireless work contributed not only to the local district, but also to the Peninsula and Fife School Districts.

Please join the Evergreen Primary staff in congratulating Shirley Case and Carol Bosley as our 2010-2011 Teachers of the Year. They are both being recognized for not only their teaching excellence, but for their contribution to the larger educational communities of University Place, Peninsula and Fife School Districts.

The work they have done to strengthen instruction for concepts such as number sense, multiplication, and rational numbers, has provided countless students in grades kindergarten-through-seventh with a solid foundation in these key areas. It is fitting that they are being recognized together for this award as they have jointly dedicated countless hours to improving the lives of students and teachers.

According to Lance Goodpaster, Principal of Evergreen Primary, "They embody all that is good in education. Above and beyond the call of duty does not apply to these two because their philosophy, every day, is whatever it takes for our kids. Evergreen Primary School is full of outstanding educators. Shirley and Carol are representative of all that these educators do well. The Evergreen staff would be proud if two of our own were selected as Teachers of the Year."

The Teacher of the Year Committee agrees.
