Visiting Gig Harbor showed why it's the team to beat Tuesday night as it dispatched Curtis, 14-4, in water polo action, handing the Lady Viks their first loss of the season.
The Tides scored the first six goals before Curtis clawed its way back - on the strength of Hannah Holly's outside shooting, to bring the score to 6-3. Gig Harbor responded with another 6-0 run to cruise to victory.
Katie Van Riper lead the Curtis attack with two goals.
Pulling out a victory against Gig Harbor was a tall task for the Lady Viks, as they played their second game in as many nights. The next match is scheduled for 7 p.m., Thursday against the Rogers Ram.
