Dance Theatre Northwest's "Nutcracker"

A pair of University Place dancers will have big roles in Dance Theatre Northwest’s production of "The Nutcracker" later this month.

Allison Zakharov, a student, is part of the production, which is scheduled Dec. 17 and Dec. 18.

Zakharov, who danced the role of Clara last season, will be in a leading role as Peppermint Candy.

Dance Theatre Northwest, with Artistic Director Melanie Kirk-Stauffer, has scheduled the production for 2:30 p.m., and 7 p.m., Dec. 17, and 4 p.m., Dec. 18, at the Mount Tacoma High Auditorium, 4632 S. 74th St., Tacoma. Parking is free and handicapped accessible.

Tickets can be purchased online at www.dancetheatrenorthwest.org, or at DTN’s studios, 2811 Bridgeport Way West, No. 24, in University Place. Admission is $21-$26 for an adult, $11-$13 for seniors over 60, children and students. Dream Passes are $45 for adults and $25 for seniors. Military discounts and group rates are also available.
