When Landon Carr takes the field for the University of Maryland in front of a nationally televised audience Saturday, he'll have a big cheering section on the other coast in University Place.
Carr is a 2009 graduate of Curtis, and he helped his team reach the NCAA Lacrosse Final Four by scoring a goal in its 11-5 upset of No. 2 John Hopkins last Saturday.
The 6-foot-2, 205-pound midfielder and his Maryland teammates will be playing in the Final Four for the second straight year.
Carr - who's younger brother, Colby, is - is enjoying a successful junior year in which he's scored six goals, two assists in 16 games, as well as 25 ground balls, according to the University of Maryland.
In his junior year, Carr had seven goals, an assist and 21 ground balls in 18 games.
Maryland (11-5) will face No. 3 Duke (15-4) at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, MA. Game time is 2 p.m., and it will be televised on ESPN2.
