Curtis' playoff hopes begin tonight, on the road against Bothell.

The Vikings - who are coming off a 35-6 loss to Federal Way in their final regular-season game last week - must travel north to face the winner of the the Kingco 4A Crest division in a play-in game.

It won't be an easy task. As Patch blogger PrepSportsBuzz pointed out, two of Bothell's four losses this season were to No. 1-ranked Skyline. Another was to top-ranked Bellevue in the 3A division. Bothell's offense averaged 27.1 points per game and the Cougar defense allowed 20.4 points per game.

But the Vikings are no gridiron pushovers either, as their defense, which was stout all season, will be looking for redemption after last week's lost. Curtis will also be looking to use its offensive line to free running back EJ Deveaux.

For those who are headed north, the game starts 7 p.m., at Pop Keeney Stadium, 18315 Bothell Way NE Bothell.

For those who can't make it to the game, check back here, as Patch users Dan, Howard and other contributors will be providing updates throughout the game.

As always, go Viks!

32 yd FG attempt - No good. Halftime: 18-3 Bothell
Dan November 04, 2012 at 03:18 AM
FYI-I visit a lot of stadiums and Viking Stadium easily has the cheapest food prices. No question about it. #Shhhhh The Bothell band continues to play the hits. Meanwhile Curtis keeps rolling out their Crazy Trains and Hey Baby. Much like the score of the game, I'm giving this battle of the bands lead to Bothell. Uh oh, Bothell just pulled out, "Shot to the Heart." It's old, but I don't hear that too often.

Dan November 04, 2012 at 03:34 AM
Bothell goes for it on 4th and long. Defense holds (again) Curtis starts on their 28
Dan November 04, 2012 at 03:39 AM
EJ Deveaux with a nice 30+ yd run gets the curtis crowd excited, but they can't do anything else and turn it over on downs. Bothell ball on their own 34 Curtis offense did not show up today. #DefenseDid

Curtis defense holds again. Bothell punts after a 3 and out. It's really sad that this is probably the last time we see this great Curtis defense. It has been a thing of beauty this year. One of the best I've seen. Most of Bothell's points are due to Curtis' inept offense. Curtis turns it over on downs. Bothell at Curtis 44.
Dan November 04, 2012 at 03:51 AM
Curtis defense forces a 3 and out and Bothell punts. Curtis ball on their 13.
Dan November 04, 2012 at 03:53 AM
Curtis...FUMBLE! Bothell ball on curtis 10 Ends the 3rd 25-3 Bothell
Dan November 04, 2012 at 03:56 AM
First play of the 4th, TD Bothell. Bothell 31-3 missed x-pt 11:54 left in game. On a positive note, it stopped raining so the drive home won't be too bad.
Dan November 04, 2012 at 03:58 AM
@scoreczar, you got this one wrong. Not even close. #scoreczar

Dan November 04, 2012 at 04:07 AM
Bothell brings ball down the field but is stopped on the 17. FG no good. Curtis ball on the 20.
Dan November 04, 2012 at 04:11 AM
Curtis forced to punt (again). Bothell begins drive at their 40. 4:45 left in game. Still, no one has left!
Dan November 04, 2012 at 04:15 AM
Bothell fans doing the "hey hey, goodbye" chant. I no longer love them. (Jenks wouldn't allow this at Curtis BTW.) Oh jeeze, now they're taunting us with "drive home safely" chant. I really hate them now.
Dan November 04, 2012 at 04:16 AM
Curtis INTERCEPTS! 1:05 to go.
Dan November 04, 2012 at 04:18 AM

While a successful conclusion always makes the journey more satisfying, but nothing will detract from the experience. I am proud of the VIK's and they represent the best of our community. I enjoy high school level sports because they are pure excitement with no ability to forecast the outcome, except that the experience each student athlete receives will shape each of their lives in a positive manner. What are the ScoreCzar and your odds on the success of these student athletes success in becoming productive citizens having had the experience of high school sports? Howard
Dan November 04, 2012 at 04:43 AM
I totally agree Howard. Anyone who goes through an athletic program learns things that will stay with them for life. I still use motivational techniques used on me by Bert Wells, 35 years ago. (It didn't work on me then though...ha ha)
Howard and Barbara Lee November 04, 2012 at 05:01 AM
By the way, I speak from athletic experience gained at the college level, so I really believe in any athletics program below the professional level. Regardless, Go Vikings because it is a win-win situation for everyone. Howard
