Curtis Girls Suffer First League Loss in Lacrosse

Klahoway overcame a deficit at intermission to best the Lady Viks, 16-13.

The Curtis girls lacrosse team dropped its first game of the season in a 16-13 loss to Klahowya Monday.

After trailing Curtis by just a goal at the intermission, Klahowya built on its 5 - 4 half-time deficit to score 12 goals in the second half for the win.

Kortney Hudak netted four goals for the Lady Viks, which suffered their first loss of the season. They are know tied for second place with Klahowya in the Peninsula Conference.

Jacky Hennegan scored a season-high 10 goals to lead Klahowya to its third win of the season. The double-digit performance gave the Central Kitsap senior 27 goals for the season, besting her single-game performance of four goals achieved in each of Hennegan's last four outings. Hennegan also had three ground balls and a season-high 17 draw controls.

Curtis (3-1-0) next faces Mukilteo (1-3-0), 7 p.m., Wednesday at home.
