CURTIS FOOTBALL: Vikings Enjoy First Scrimmage

Visitors will enjoy their new bleacher section. The Vikings open their season Aug. 31, when they host Emerald Ridge.

Check out these picures submitted by Patch user and Curtis football fanatic Howard Lee.

He was out at the school today for the Vikings' first scrimmage. He also took a picture of the field and new visitors bleachers.

"The new field is nice." he wrote. "Glad it's not blue, but guess I'm old fashion! Well, old anyway! Still more work to do on the visitors stands."

Thanks for contribution, Howard!

By the way, Curtis opens its season Aug. 31 at home against Emerald Ridge.

Here's a question: What are your some of your favorite memories of home games at Curtis? We'd love to hear them.

I can't even tell you how excited I am for another year of Curtis football. If you like to just sit back and enjoy a game, it really is the best bang for your buck. I go to them all, both home and away. Are those visitor bleachers finished?

Hey Dan, Thanks for the comments. I was out there today, chatting with Curtis' AD, Terry Jenks. Wow. The new turf looks great. As for the bleachers, no, they're not done. They might not be done for the next few weeks, although Jenks says they'll be ready for the Sept. 28 homecoming against Todd Beamer at the latest. Go Viks!
