Cool Creatures Tonight At The University Of Puget Sound

Marty Essen, author of Cool Creatures, Hot Planet: Exploring the Seven Continents, will present a high-energy, seven-continent, digital slide show promising laughs, surprises, and interesting facts.

If you are even willing to consider the idea, come check out the possibilities with adventurer Marty Essen at his presentation “Around the World in 90 minutes,” starting 7:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 7, in Kilworth Memorial Chapel. Ticket information is below.

Marty Essen, author of Cool Creatures, Hot Planet: Exploring the Seven Continents, will present a high-energy, seven-continent, digital slide show promising laughs, surprises, and interesting facts. The evening will feature stories and the best of thousands of photographs he took while traveling the world for his book. Questions will be taken at the end of the presentation.

“Around the World in 90 Minutes” began as a show Essen presented in bookstores as part of his first book tour. Later, after numerous refinements, the show took on a life of its own at colleges across the United States. Recently it reached No. 1 in total lecture bookings on the website of the national college programming service, Association for the Promotion of Campus Activities.

Marty Essen has won multiple book awards for travel and essay writing, including the 2007 Benjamin Franklin Award, the “Best Books” 2006 Book Award, and the National Indie Excellence 2007 Book Award. In addition the Star-Tribune of Minneapolis named Cool Creatures, Hot Planet a top-10 “green” book.
TICKETS are free with University of Puget Sound identification and $5 to the general public. Tickets will be available at the door.
