ANDREAWATCH: Curtis Product Andrea Geubelle Takes National Indoor Triple Jump Crown

The University Place native jumped to a NCAA-best 44'10.25 feet at the NCAA Division I 2012 Indoor Championships earlier this month in Nampa, ID.

NAMPA, ID-At this point, it's fair to ask the question: Does fly to the Northwest from Lawrence, KS, when she's on break, or does she just jump?

Given her exploits earlier this month at the 2012 NCAA Indoor Championships, anything seems possible with the Curtis grad.

Fresh off her record-setting performance at the Big 12 Championships, the Kansas junior took first place in the triple jump with an NCAA-best 44'10.25 feet to capture the national indoor title.

Geubelle's mark was a Jayhawk school record, and it helped Kansas finish second in the team competition behind National Champion Oregon.

"I knew that it was up to me to win the triple because that’s what I came here to do" Geubelle told Kansan.com. "Everybody worked hard to perform the way they did this weekend. I think we surprised a lot of people.”

Now, Geubelle and the rest of the Jayhawks are working on the outdoor season, which could mean more titles and more broken records.

Congratulations to Andrea and her family - including father Jeff, USAF - on your accomplishments!

And we hope to see you around when you're back in the Northwest, whether you fly or jump.
