What are the advantages of using in-home care?

With the aging baby boomer population, a growing number of people are looking into the idea of hiring an in home care agency to care for their aging loved one.

Senior care and assisted living are on the mind of a lot of folks these days. With the aging baby boomer population, a growing number of people are looking into the idea of hiring an in home care agency to care for their aging loved one. In home care has several advantages over a nursing home or family member. Here are 3 of them:

1. Convenience

The convenience factor of an in home senior care agency cannot be overstated. With in-home care, your aging loved one has the ability to remain in the place where they are most comfortable; their home. This can be very helpful in maintaining the health of your family member and keeping them in good spirits. In-home care is also convenient for the family, because it takes the burden off of the children or whomever may have had to take care of the senior. Since most family members are busy with jobs and raising their own families, this is especially important.

 2. Competence

While many families would like to take care of their parents themselves, the fact is many of them don’t have a person who is qualified to do this. Since the elderly have increasing health issues that need addressing, it is always best to have someone around that is experienced caring for seniors and knows how to handle difficult situations. An in home senior care agency that is operated by nurses or other health care professionals is best equipped for this role. They are able to provide assisted living at whatever level of care is necessary to make sure the senior is comfortable and well taken care of.

3. Customization

When it comes to the health concerns of the elderly, every situation is a little different. Unfortunately, in a major medical institution like a nursing home, there is usually no mechanism in place to address this reality. It is usually a “one size fits all” situation. This is obviously not going to bring your aging loved one the level of care they need and deserve. With an in-home elder care agency, they have the ability to create a customized plan that can address the specific needs of each of their clients. For example, some clients only need a home visit once a month just to check up on them, while others require ’round the clock’ care.

Whatever level of care is needed, an in-home senior care agency has the flexibility to accommodate their clients. This means better quality care for your valued loved ones. One other thing-since in-home care allows the client to stay where they are, it can always be cancelled if they family finds that it’s not the best fit for them. This cannot be done if you’ve already sold their belongings and shipped them to a nursing home.

I wonder how much this `re-branding' cost?? Perhaps the City of UP could get a deal on what theyRead More want to spend on `re-branding'! It still sounds like Tacoma is the preferred branch of Pierce County - that is, why is not `Pierce County Chamber of Commerce' - and what is the implied difference between `west side' and `south county' ? And, of course, that begs the question - is there an` east side' and a `north county' that is being ignored?? I don't know why I am so confused..maybe because their new logo has a haunting resemblance to that of a former company that went bankrupt... And, lastly, let us hope that `business in motion' is moving into our county, and not out of it..

Just read that story. Great article, and a well deserved award. I haven't really followed the teamRead More this year. Do they have a shot this week in state? It's at MT Tahoma, so I may just have to head over there.

No sweat Dan. Here's the link. By the way, this story also took first in the Washington PressRead More Association contest, so people apparently related to the team's story. Go Curtis!
