University Place Will Receive Money To Improve Bridgeport

The Puget Sound Regional Council selected the project as one of several to receive federal funding this week.

SEATTLE – University Place will receive $642,307 for Bridgeport Way West improvements via action this week by the Puget Sound Regional Council.

“Helping communities secure federal transportation funding is one of the key roles of the PSRC,” said PSRC President and Kitsap County Commissioner Josh Brown. “This project rose to the top on its merits and can not only deliver improvements for the future, but help grow jobs in the near term.”

The University Place’s Bridgeport Way (phase 5 improvements) project will build curbs, gutters, planter strips, sidewalks, and bicycle lanes, as well as storm drainage, streetlights and other improvements along the roadway.
