The governor's office shared these photographs. Can you see who's sitting in the governor's chair in the group shot? That's right, it's the Vikings' leader, Dominic Robinson.

Hey, it suits him well. If this whole basketball thing doesn't work out, he might want to try politics.

The Washington State Governor’s office has invited each of the 12 WIAA State Basketball Championship teams - including the Curtis High boys - to participate in a luncheon reception with newly elected Governor Jay Inslee today.

“It’s a real pleasure to meet and congratulate Washington’s top basketball programs on their accomplishments,” Governor Inslee said. “These student-athletes have put in tremendous hard work and training. I know how much this sport taught me about leadership and teamwork and I know these young students have incredible potential.”

Student-athletes, coaches, team managers and WIAA Executive Director Mike Colbrese will accompany Governor Inslee, each of the school’s respective district legislators, and Speaker of the House, Frank Chopp at the Executive Residence for the one-hour luncheon.

“Governor Inslee has graciously taken time out of his busy schedule to congratulate our State Champions,” Colbrese said. “To be congratulated by Governor Inslee and receive a tour of the Capitol gives these students an opportunity that will be a highlight of their high school careers.”

Following the luncheon, the teams will embark on a one-hour guided tour of the Capitol Campus. The teams attending the luncheon and tours are Toledo (1A Boys Champion), Rainier Beach (3A Boys Champion), Curtis (4A Boys Champion), Colton (1B Girls Champion), Brewster (1A Girls Champion), Cleveland (3A Girls Champion) and Mead (4A Girls Champion).
