Redistricting Meeting Tonight; Decision Expected

The Pierce County Redistricting Committee is scheduled to make a decision on a new plan that sets the districts for the next 10 years. Under the proposal, University Place would be split with Gig Harbor.

Pierce County's new voting districts will be set for the next 10 years tonight.

A redistricting committee is scheduled to meet at 7 p.m. at the Pierce County Council Chambers, although officials say the meeting will be crowded, as Republicans who don't like the plan are expected to voice their concerns.

The Council Chambers are located at the County-City Building, 930 Tacoma Ave. S., Room 1045.
