Patch users want an American flag in front of the Civic Building, and they support the Occupy Wall Street protestors.

At least, that's according to a pair of polls that we posted about the issues over the weekend. Collectively, almost 120 votes have been cast.

The flag issue - which stems from despite UP likely not moving its headquarters for months, if not years - prompted overwhelming support from users.

As of 5:30 p.m., today, about almost 75 percent of the votes cast indicated that the city should erect a flag before it moves into the Civic Building.

The question also prompted a lively discussion. User Phil wrote, "EVERY building, public or private, should have an American flag waving above it. It seems that our symbol of freedom becomes more scarce each passing day."

User even66 wrote, "It is a public buliding and we do live in the US... Seems to me that the question should be, why isnt there one flying there already...."

But user TPB, Esq. had a different take: "I appreciate the sentiment, as a service member, but we don't need to spend the money until the Town Center is truly open. Responses to the were a little more split, but almost half who responded indicated the occupants are "earnest demonstrators who have a good point."

Almost 40 percent felt that the occupants were "misguided protestors who don't understand business." Less than 10 percent checked that the protestors were "hippies looking for any available protest."
