Another magazine, another round national accolades for.
This time, golf publication LINKS Magazine named the University Place course - site of the 2015 U.S. Open - the best muni in the nation, besting such courses as New York's Bethpage State Park Black and La Jolla, CA's Torrey Pines (South).
The publicly owned course in UP "encourages the ground game and looks as though it could be a British Open course," the magazine wrote about the publicly owned course. "In three-and-a-half years, (architect Robert Trent) Jones Jr. will be the first architect since his father (at Hazeltine National in 1991) to watch an Open played on his own original design."
This isn't the first time Chambers Bay has been in the running for the title of the nation's best public golf course.
