THIS CAMPAIGN:

What is the primary reason you are running for this office?

I am running for school board because quality education is the most valuable thing we can provide to our youth.  I feel I bring energy, a youthful perspective, and great passion to the position.

What will be your top three priorities if you get elected and why?

I intend to push for strong parental involvement in the education process.  Having informed parents that are able to contribute to learning during the times away from school is absolutely necessary.

I will put a strong emphasis on early education, particularly reading, writing, and math.  Without solid foundations, students fall further and further behind in the later grades.

Third, I would like to see high standards in math and science in the upper grades.  While these classes aren’t needed by everyone, we must give our students the education to compete for all types of jobs, including the growing need for employees with strong math and science backgrounds.

What sets you apart from the other candidates and/or previous office holders?

As a younger candidate, I bring a fresh perspective.  I am young enough to still have relatively recent experiences in the education system, but am far enough removed to view issues from a perspective of a contributing taxpayer and business owner.

How much money do you expect your campaign to spend on this election?

I plan to spend approximately $500 in total for my campaign.
