Lakewood's Malcolm Russell To Run For State House

The small business owner is running for the 28th Legislative District, which includes University Place and Lakewood.

Pierce County planning commissioner Malcolm Russell today announced he will run for the State House of Representatives in the 28th District.

“The recent special session shows us how dysfunctional the majority Democrats have become, unable to adopt reasonable reforms and balance a state budget.  Olympia is broken and our only hope of repairing state government is to elect more centrist leaders willing to make tough decisions,” said Russell.

Russell currently serves on the Lakewood Public Safety Advisory Board, he is the chair of the Pierce County Planning Commission, and the new president of Keep Lakewood Beautiful.  He previously served on the Tacoma Planning Commission.
