POLL: Frog n Kiwi Cafe Set To Open in February; Owners Start Facebook Page

The cafe - which will also offer the "UPlay Town Center" area - will be located in the Civic Building at Town Center.

For the past few months, some in University Place have wondered when Town Center's first official cafe business would open.

Good news for them is barring any setbacks, is scheduled to open next month. Even better, they can countdown the minutes - literally - until its opening.

Owners Marc and Kelly Grau said today that construction began last month on the 2,700-square-foot area, which they are leasing annually from the city at $16,500.

"We are happy to announce construction started last month and things are moving along with a target opening date sometime in February (fingers crossed)," the couple wrote to Patch.

The couple even established Facebook pages for the cafe, as well as the extensive childen's play area that the business will offer, which is dubbed the "UPlay Town Center."

Best part? Each page offers a countdown clock to the opening, giving future customers an up-to-the-minute countdown to the big day.

In an unscientific poll that Patch published in September, more than 85 percent of respondents indicated that Frog n Kiwi Cafe was a good fit for Town Center. Take the poll here.
