ELECTION: Recount Shows Ken Grassi Edges Sharon Benson For Pierce County Council District 4
The final tally showed the University Place Mayor edging Benson by 43 votes, or .21 percent. He will face Connie Ladenburg in the November general election.
Ken Grassi is moving onto November.
A recount Tuesday of the Aug. 7 primary election showed the University Place mayor edged Sharon Benson by 43 votes, or .21 percent of the 19,930 votes cast.
The new figures actually reflect an increase of seven votes for Grassi, who must now set his sights on Connie Ladenburg. She captured 7,794 votes, almost 40 percent of the ballots cast.
